ABOUT

THE CLUB

The Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club is a welcoming outdoor sports club for people who enjoy staying active, being social, and spending time outside.

The club has been part of the local community for over a century, bringing together generations of players in a friendly and inclusive setting.

Adults and juniors of all experience levels are welcome. Some members come for casual play and social activities, while others enjoy friendly competition. Participation is flexible, and members choose how involved they want to be. It’s truly a sport for life.

What Is Lawn Bowling?

Lawn bowling is a precision sport played outdoors on a real grass green. Players roll bowls toward a smaller target ball called the jack. Learn more about the game from Bowls Canada Boulingrin, the national governing body for lawn bowling in Canada.

Games can be played in teams of four, triples, pairs, or one-on-one. A game can be short or longer, depending on how and when you play. It’s a sport that combines focus, light physical activity, and a relaxed social atmosphere.
